Jean Drugescu founds second company NICPREM – Electro-Mechanical components & Plastic injected parts for old (state-owned) ARCTIC refrigerator factory

Nicprem becomes a core supplier of Arctic after take-over by ARCELIK Group from Turkey  – first negotiations with Cengiz Kilic & Orcun Yurdusen.

Nicprem obtains first quality certifications ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Nicprem acquires new land in Titu, Damboita county, just 20 km from Arctic plant

Nicprem moves all plastic injection activity to Titu, keeping only offices and assembly of switches in Bucharest

Metaplast (MEN Group – Nicprem’s sister company becomes Tier 1 supplier to Dacia-Renault for interior & exterior parts. A specialized injection plant is built for automotive activity

Nicprem modernizes the injection plant with brand new machines (F1) to support Arctic-Arcelik plastic injection activity. Nicprem’s excellent injection know-how is shown by making the first transparent plastic parts

R&D office – Metaplast Engineering – created within the group for own Engineering capabilities

Nicprem wins first contracts with ELECTROLUX – Hungary and Italy for plastic parts

Nicprem supports Arcelik in acquiring new technologies and know-how, such as Tampon printing for big drawers and transparent parts

Nicprem supports Arcelik and Electrolux with big electrical assemblies, for Back Cover (Evaporator covers) with Electrical Assembly of Fan Motor

Nicprem builds another new injection plant (F4), expanding Electrolux and Nicprem business and supporting Automotive activity

Nicprem also starts supporting Arcelik and Electrolux with complex assemblies involving thermostats (thermostat boxes)

Nicprem expands its line-up of Electro-Mechanical components with Arcelik, diversifying the number of switches and lamp holders provided. Also, Nicprem starts to provide door switches and lamp holders to Electrolux

Nicprem creates its own laboratory, with specialized personnel, in order to be able to perform mechanical and electrical components testing in-house

Within this period, Metaplast becomes a core Tier 1 supplier of Dacia-Renault also for Under Bonnet / cooling, technical & electrical parts

Production expansion in Titu with 3 new plants: 2 injection & 1 toolshop for big molds, dedicated to automotive activity

After discussions with Arcelik, Nicprem is nominated and contracted as a core supplier for New Arcelik Ulmi Washing Machine plant for Detergent Drawer & Front Panel

Nicprem decides to make a new injection and assembly plant – plant 5 (F5) (green-field investment) dedicated for washing machine project of Arcelik

Also in this period, Metaplast starts a Strategic partnership with Montaplast Germany and becomes a (T2 supplier) Supplier for FORD Romania Powertrain (AGS – Under Bonnet) & exterior parts for Ford Ecosport, Ford Puma.

Expansion of Factory 5 (F5) from 16 machines (dedicated WM project) to 50 machines for all NICPREM activity

Adaptation of F5 for modern assembly of complete Front Panels, including laser printing technology (2 brand new machines) and US welding technology. Addition of Dedicated ESD-compatible assembly line for assembly of PCBs inside Front Panels

Inauguration of F5 in Autumn 2019 with the official SOP of Washing Machine customer Arctic/Arcelik Ulmi 

Nicprem starts the relationship with new customer HAIER, winning contracts for its new refrigerator plant in Ploiesti.

To manage the increasing diversity of assembled components and the increased volumes, Nicprem creates a new assembly building, next to factory F5 dedicated only for assembly activity of refrigerator components.

Nicprem supports Arcelik in acquiring new and know-how, HOT STAMPING & printing for big parts, and transparetechnologiesnt parts/premium products – SMEG project 

SOP with new Refrigerator customer HAIER, and contract for electrical components / switches

TOTAL number of injection machines available at Nicprem : 59 machines from 50 T → 1200 T (mosty Battenfeld & Engel)
